Outsourcing (My Desires to Avatars) is an audio-visual poem, featuring words, performance and editing by artist Deborah Findlater, acts as a response to found footage material of the character Christie from the popular fighting game series, Dead or Alive. This is part of an ongoing project addressing the intersectionality of responses to female video game characters, prompted by an analysis of my own relationship with the character, following engagement in interviews with queer people within the gaming industry exploring their own views on gender in design and the social responsibility of those who have the power to create.
