Directors Note:
Though initially conceived as an academic exercise, GLORY, HOLE is a lot more than just a film about the horror of surviving rape as a queer person. It's inspired by my own experience of being sexually assaulted for being transgender, and the cruel reality of life after assault - how there was no closure for me, despite my desperate desire for it. This film is a heated, experimental look at how an act of violence can change your life. It explores two responses to life after rape, and interrogates the audience's own perspectives and sympathies in the event of a failure of justice. The film will also have the sound remastered by Danilo Zambrano in anticipation of festival screenings.
