Girl King

An experimental short film inspired by the trans-forming Mesopotamian deity Ishtar. Five guests – who are gender non-conforming, trans or non-binary – hold a feast in a fictionalised English country garden. The work grapples with mythologies and histories through reinterpreting and imagining new visual and sonic worlds.

ISHTAR

 is an experimental meditation on gender queerness and the blurred lines between influence, desire and obsession. The docu-fictional film revisits an unnamed subject’s childhood memory, resurfacing the nascent fantasies that once captured their imagination. What can we learn from our formative fascinations? Where in our mind do they live? How do they re-emerge?

This film was funded by the 2020 Barbara Hammer Lesbian Experimental Filmmaking Grant.

Mooncake

Erotic hallucinations start to haunt Lina after a night out. As her world starts to morph, a mysterious latex-gloved, masked figure joins her in a wet and slimy power play of pleasure.

Ruptured re-envisions erotically charged moments from mainstream horror through a queer pornographic lens. Centering queer sexuality, and POC female and non-binary characters, the film subverts what would usually remain hidden, absent or cast as deviant within the genre.

Trigger warming: The film includes both erotic and horror elements which sometimes support each other. It discusses power play which leads to scenes where consent is not given. It is a fantasy film that challenges its topics.

Ruptured

Dorothy's a film director and a bit of a loser. One night, fueled up on Heineken, she lets loose on her script when a call from her producer kills her buzz: enough with the queer comedies, it's time to start making mainstream films. To avoid sinking to the deepest depths of despair, Dorothy seeks comfort in her favorite TV show Romy the Vampire Slayer. Unfortunately, her own demons show up.

Magical creatures recount fantastic and peculiar folktales into the teenager’s mind, as if speaking directly into his dreams. Relating an erotic fable of an Arabian princess who escapes her palace to spend lurid evenings with common men, the birds entice the young man toward his own desire. Their elaborate narrative, which unfolds with ambiguous shifts in genders and protagonists, escalates in intensity until it is suddenly interrupted, just before it reaches the best part of the story.

The Princess and the Magic Birds

A reimagining of Pasolini’s TEOREMA (1968), 

 follows a refugee who washes up in a small suitcase on the banks of the River Thames in London. Arriving at the house of an upper-class family, he seduces each and every family member, depicted in explicit sex scenes.
